Hi everyone!
So yes, I haven't done my days of happiness in a while... first I was kind of busy and I forgot, and then, as most of you probably know by now, my neighbour passed away and I just wasn't really in the mood. He had cancer and we all knew it would happen, but it had still gone rather fast and he was such a great man. He always baked things and brought them to me to taste, and I did the same for him; when my grandma was sick and Mum often came home alone because we were all at school or work, he'd come out into the driveway to ask her how she was doing; and he was always outside, playing with the dog... we'll all miss him very much :(.
Before all that happened, however, my weekend was simply amazing and I'd like to do a post about that anyway.
On Saturday night, our short film To Do Great, Right A Little Wrong premiered in a real cinema and it was incredible. There were a lot of people, everyone was dressed up, and almost every chair was occupied. Sander speeched and then the film started, and everyone said they loved it. Thessa speeched, too, and we all got flowers; they took our pictures and everything. It was just really great -for one night, we all felt a little bit like a star. We talked to a lot of people afterwards, hearing what they thought, and then we had our own little afterparty with the cast and crew only. It was a great night.
On Sunday, we went to Amsterdam because my friend and I were going to Musicals in Concert - with Willemijn, of course! We spent a few hours in Amsterdam (it was raining), saw the Red Light District (it was my first time, too, and it was... um... interesting), and then went to the Ziggo Dome. We had the most expensive tickets, but it was totally worth it - we were standing directly at the stage and we had an amazing view.
Seeing Willemijn on stage again for the first time since she had to quit Wicked was wonderful. She's such a gorgeous woman, and it's clear her voice has not suffered one bit from her surgery - she completely blew everyone away! All the other performers were incredible as well and I love it, especially since my friend and I were so close... I met a fellow musical fan there, too, which was awesome. We talked a lot about it all. We all sang along to almost all the songs, there were tears and fireworks and the loudest applause ever, and it was just... epic. I have no other word for it. I sincerely hope there will be a second edition of Musicals in Concert next year (preferably again with Willemijn, of course); I'll totally be going again!
I will try to pick up my days of happiness again from now on, but with another uni exam coming up, I feel like I'm getting more and more forgetful... I'm not giving up on it, in any case. I'm only at 27 so far - I have 73 more days of happiness to go!
Maddy
