Flashdance and fanfiction

First of all: I am completely overwhelmed by the amount of votes I got in the Wicked Greg Awards. Thank you all so, so much. You have no idea how much it means to me that I, who has only been on Fanfiction.net for one year, was not only voted Best Angst Author, Most Humorous Author and Best One-Shot Author, but also came in second as Best Author and Best Romance Author (right after Carlie, aka Vinkunwildflowerqueen, who completely deserves the votes she got and more). The Awards for Best Stories haven't been put up yet, but even just this... wow. Thank you all so much. I love you! (In a non-creepy way, as always!)

I went to see the musical Flashdance for the second time last Sunday, and it was amazing. To give you an impression, here's a link to one of my favourite songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebN-gsLb5rQ You can skip the talking and move along to the singing, though it was even more wonderful now than it is in the video because that was recorded months ago, when they hadn't had as much practice yet. I was in the first row and it was the final show in the Netherlands, so it was really, really awesome.

Furthermore, for my original story I'm leaning towards Bruised, Broken & Healed as the title, because it just seems to fit the storyline so well. What do you think? Does it sound good, or is it too long, or is there something else about it?

I completed Ghost of green girl's present and I must say I'm quite happy with the ending. Also, since Summer paradise was nominated for Best Songfic in the Gregs, I decided to honour it and write a prequel for it about the summer Elphaba and Fiyero spent together five years ago. It's called Summer loving (and yes, the title is from the Grease song ^_^). Feel free to check it out!
As for Conceal, don't feel: I'm planning on posting one more chapter before ending the fic, because otherwise things would get too complicated, I think, for just one story. Don't worry, though - there will be a sequel about the war, and it will be posted soon, but I want to get a head start on it before I start posting.
Furthermore I've been having inspiration for both another Fiyeraba Wicked fanfic as well as a Frozen fanfic, so I'm not sure yet which one I'm going to write first. The thing is, I'm back at uni and this semester is going to be a lot busier than the last one was; so I'm going to try and limit my running stories to two at most, otherwise there will most likely be a long time between updates and I hate that.

Anyways... thank you all again so much for voting for me in the Gregs; but also for reading, reviewing, following and favouriting my story (yes, in my dictionary, 'favouriting' is a word :P). You have no idea how much it means to me and how much I appreciate it!

I'd like to end this blog post by wishing Steph a very, very happy, Ozmazifying and Wicked birthday! Though I'm sure that you're going to have a blast today, given the fact that you're in London to see Wicked, and all ;).

  2. Yay for Flashdance wish I went too...
And you deserve it so much! I LOVE your fics!!!
    And 'favouriting' /is/ a word. ^_^
Though I feel guilty not reading a word right now... I'll read Summer Loving, RIGHT NOW.
For the title, to be honest, I don't know... It might be a little too long, and maybe (I don't know) you can try to come up with something with a double meaning. No offense though, it's your story and your choice. You might as well tell me more about the plot. ^_^

  3. Wouldn't the third part of "Bruised, Broken & Healed" already give a third of the plot away? ;-) You know I know how tricky finding the right title can be. Picking a quote from one of the characters could work....and hey, you can always settle on a working title and change it when the whole story's done!
