Original story stuff

For my original story, I actually found two images on the Internet that fit the way I'm picturing Xav and Cenna in my head very well.

Xav, in my head, looks a lot like Sam Claflin, the actor who played Finnick Odair in Catching Fire; I just imagine him a little less 'perfect'. Also, Xav's eyes are supposed to be a bluish green colour and his hair is described as 'sandy'. For the general picture, though, I do kind of imagine him like this.
And then there's Cenna. I love the colour of her hair and eyes in this picture - they're perfect, exactly the way I had imagined them to be when I first made her up. She's supposed to look a bit younger, her features a bit more delicate, her hair a bit curlier; and she's supposed to be covered in freckles. But again, the overall picture is like the one in my mind. I don't know who the girl in this picture is; but when I found this, I was like, "Oh my Oz, those eyes and that hair! That's perfect!"

Also, some fun facts about my story:
I gave most of the characters names with a certain meaning (according to a Dutch baby names site, anyway). I'm not going to spoil them all for you, but I'll give you a few examples.
'Cenna' is based on the name 'Canna', which means 'loved one'.
Xav's full name is 'Xalvador', which means 'saviour'.
The name of the king of the country my story takes place in is 'Aedd'; he is named after an Irish king.
The name of the bad guy is 'Mallor', derived from the female name 'Malorie', which means 'dark, black'.
Cenna's brother is called 'Jermain', which means 'brother' (aren't I original? :P).
And of course there is Xav's ten-year-old cousin named Lixanne, who is named after my dear friend Xanne-Li ^_^.

I'm still not sure about which title I want to use, so I'm going to give that some more thought. A friend of mine already promised he'd design a cover for me, though, so I'm really excited for that. It seems more and more likely that I might actually finish this story and that it's going to be my first published book ever! :)

Everything

I quote myself from my last blog post: "I'm going to try and limit my running stories to two at most, otherwise there will most likely be a long time between updates and I hate that."
I just wanted to tell you that I'm already failing :P. I mean, 'Always there' is still in the middle of being posted, I just started posting a new story called 'Everything'... and I promised you all that the 'Conceal, don't feel' sequel would be up soon as well. So... let's change that to three running stories, shall we? *sheepish look*

More sheepish looks, by the way, because we (my family and I) were all convinced that we were going to see Jochem Myjer (my favourite cabaret performer of all time I mentioned in my first blog post) tonight; but we made a mistake in writing it down. It's not tonight, it's next week. Well, I suppose I have something to look forward to, then.
Other than that, I had my resit yesterday - I have no idea how it went, I just fervently hope I passed; and at least now I don't have to study for that anymore! :)

The song lyrics I'm using for my new fanfic 'Everything' are from the song 'A heartbreak away' by Sharon Kips. Sharon won X-Factor in the Netherlands quite some years ago and I really love this single she released. You might recognise parts of the lyrics, because I used some lines from this song in 'Shadows' as well :).
You can listen to it by clicking this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XgDl0ppvGk. Never mind the lyrics, they're not exactly free of typos and grammar mistakes; but the audio is a good one.

Flashdance and fanfiction

First of all: I am completely overwhelmed by the amount of votes I got in the Wicked Greg Awards. Thank you all so, so much. You have no idea how much it means to me that I, who has only been on Fanfiction.net for one year, was not only voted Best Angst Author, Most Humorous Author and Best One-Shot Author, but also came in second as Best Author and Best Romance Author (right after Carlie, aka Vinkunwildflowerqueen, who completely deserves the votes she got and more). The Awards for Best Stories haven't been put up yet, but even just this... wow. Thank you all so much. I love you! (In a non-creepy way, as always!)

I went to see the musical Flashdance for the second time last Sunday, and it was amazing. To give you an impression, here's a link to one of my favourite songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebN-gsLb5rQ You can skip the talking and move along to the singing, though it was even more wonderful now than it is in the video because that was recorded months ago, when they hadn't had as much practice yet. I was in the first row and it was the final show in the Netherlands, so it was really, really awesome.

Furthermore, for my original story I'm leaning towards Bruised, Broken & Healed as the title, because it just seems to fit the storyline so well. What do you think? Does it sound good, or is it too long, or is there something else about it?

I completed Ghost of green girl's present and I must say I'm quite happy with the ending. Also, since Summer paradise was nominated for Best Songfic in the Gregs, I decided to honour it and write a prequel for it about the summer Elphaba and Fiyero spent together five years ago. It's called Summer loving (and yes, the title is from the Grease song ^_^). Feel free to check it out!
As for Conceal, don't feel: I'm planning on posting one more chapter before ending the fic, because otherwise things would get too complicated, I think, for just one story. Don't worry, though - there will be a sequel about the war, and it will be posted soon, but I want to get a head start on it before I start posting.
Furthermore I've been having inspiration for both another Fiyeraba Wicked fanfic as well as a Frozen fanfic, so I'm not sure yet which one I'm going to write first. The thing is, I'm back at uni and this semester is going to be a lot busier than the last one was; so I'm going to try and limit my running stories to two at most, otherwise there will most likely be a long time between updates and I hate that.

Anyways... thank you all again so much for voting for me in the Gregs; but also for reading, reviewing, following and favouriting my story (yes, in my dictionary, 'favouriting' is a word :P). You have no idea how much it means to me and how much I appreciate it!

I'd like to end this blog post by wishing Steph a very, very happy, Ozmazifying and Wicked birthday! Though I'm sure that you're going to have a blast today, given the fact that you're in London to see Wicked, and all ;).
