Hi peoples!
So I went to the cinema with a friend today to see a Dutch movie (I don't like a lot of Dutch movies. I mean, seriously, Dutch people absolutely suck at acting... unless they're Willemijn Verkaik, of course. But, anyway, this one I did like - it was really funny); and during the credits, a Marco Borsato song was playing (remember the singer I mentioned in my first blog post? The one whose concert I'll be going to in May? That's Marco) and it just seemed to fit my fanfiction 'Ghost of green girl's past' so perfectly that I had to put this up.
The song is Dutch and it's called 'De Weg Terug' ('The Way Back'). I think it's simply beautiful. You can listen to it by clicking this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5rvyza3Mt8.
It really is about two people having drifted apart in a relationship; but some parts of it are just perfect for the situation Fiyero and Elphaba are in in GoGGP... especially at the ending of Chapter 10. I mean, listening to this song and knowing the meaning whilst reading Chapter 10 guarantees tears, I think :3. I'll translate my favourite parts for you:
At arm's length, but miles away from me
...
Let me find you
Give me the chance to start over
Let me see you
Let me love you again
I'm searching for you in the dark
Why can't I see you?
Why aren't you answering me?
...
I can't handle having lost you
...
Give me something,
a sign that you're alive,
a single sound
In order for me to determine
which way to go
...
Why can't I see you?
Why aren't you there?
I really can't wait 'til the concert! But until then, lots of other awesome stuff - I'll be seeing Flashdance in just two weeks' time! Whooooooohh! :D

Original story musings
Hello!
First things first, I want to apologise to you guys for my lack of Fanfiction updates lately. It's just that I've been working very hard on my original story and I'm not good at multitasking - not when it comes to writing, anyway.
That being said, I'm looking for a title for my original story. Those of you who know me also know that I am absolutely horrible at coming up with titles - whether for a chapter, a story, or an essay or article for uni - so I thought I might ask for your help. I'll give you a summary of the story (no spoilers) and you just... tell me the first thing that comes to mind, okay?
Summary:
There's him - Xav Gauchi. An only child and city boy with loving parents who would give him the world if they could. His father is an important advisor to the King and Xav will most likely follow in his footsteps one day, but first he wants to travel around the land to see everything he has only ever dreamt of seeing, which his parents are supportive of.
And there's her - Cenna Torell. She has two brothers and a sister, her father is a renowned businessman and she is arranged to be married to a Lord; but in reality she's in a secret relationship with the boy she really loves. She has big dreams, but she knows that those will most likely never come true.
When Xav meets Cenna, years later, she is trapped in a marriage with an abusive husband and she's completely broken. He vows that he will do everything he can to fix her; but Cenna has secrets, and she's not the only one. Helping Cenna comes with a price - but people in love do strange things, which means that Xav is willing to pay that price... whatever it may be.
Well, wasn't that nice and vague? :)
I'm toying with a few titles - Bruised, Broken & Healed, for example; or Never too late. Or I could go with something deeper - Stained Glass Hearts is a title I read somewhere and quite liked... but I'm not sure. So... please let me know in a comment?
I'm really loving working on this story, and I'm hoping to be able to finish and publish it somewhere this year. So far it's about 71 000 words and 100 pages in Microsoft Word, and I think it will end up being somewhere between 100 000 and 150 000 words, but I'm not sure yet. I'm working on it.
I'm actually kind of proud of myself for keeping it so firmly under wraps. Usually when I'm working on a story, I want to send it to as many people as possible as soon as possible; but since I'm actually planning on publishing this one as a book, it felt like I was jinxing it if I did that. So far two people are following the story, as in, I send them updates the moment I finish editing a chapter; two other people are still going to read it; and one other person knows the entire storyline, including the spoilers - which is mostly because I named one of the characters in the book after her and I couldn't resist letting her know ^_^.
Anyway, I'll just stop my rambling now and go write some more. Thank you so much for reading, I really appreciate it; and please let me know what you think of the title issue!

Happy New Year!
Hi everyone!
So it's me - Maddy, a.k.a. Ultimate Queen of Cliffies (on Fanfiction.net). I don't have any particular reason for creating a blog; the Author's Notes on my Fanfiction stories always end up being way too long, and I figured I might as well do all that on here - plus I just like to vent my thoughts and/or hear your opinions on certain things. I will use this blog for stuff about things going on in my life, but also for things concerning my stories, fanfiction and otherwise. January 1st seemed like a good day to start :).
About me: I'm a twenty-year-old Psychology student - I'm currently in my third year - only the study isn't exactly my cup of tea, so I plan on changing directions next year, though I have no idea what I'm going to do yet. I live with my parents and my younger sister, as well as Brownie, the cutest and fluffiest bunny in the world, whom you'll probably read more about as I go. My dream is to be able to make a living with writing one day. I love musicals, books (both reading and writing them) and music in general. I'm a Verkaiking (= huge fan of Willemijn Verkaik). Oh, and I'm Dutch. I live in the Netherlands.
I figured I might as well start this off with some sentimental New Year's stuff - looking back at the previous year and looking forward to the next one. So...
All things awesome
All things not so awesome
People who changed me for the better
Things I'm looking forward to
Things I fervently hope will happen
So... I must say, I've got a good feeling about this year. I hope it will be absolutely amazing - for everyone. So, I wish you all the best, happiest, most Wicked new year ever. May it be filled with love, bliss, hope and opportunities, may the Force be with you and may the odds be ever in your favour. Let it go and defy gravity, and may all your dreams come true :).

2013
All things awesome
- First year with my driver's license!
- Seeing Wicked for the fifth time - the very last show they ever did in the Netherlands, which was an incredible experience.
- Creating a Fanfiction account.
- Seeing Sister Act. Twice.
- Going to Italy for the first time in my life and seeing Venice, which must be the most beautiful place on earth.
- Working on a movie with a bunch of friends.
- Seeing Flashdance.
- Travelling all the way to London with a friend for one short day, just to see Wicked - which, by the way, is even more amazing in its original language. Especially when Willemijn Verkaik is Elphaba.
- Seeing the new Disney movie Frozen!
- Finishing more stories in a single year than I had up until last year in my entire life.
All things not so awesome
- Getting a knee injury that forced me to stop running and that I'm still struggling with.
- Having my wisdom tooth removed. (For those of you who don't know, I'm terrified of needles. And dentists.)
- Some 'first time's without my Grandma. New Year's Eve, her birthday, Easter... Can't believe it's been one and a half years already :( <3.
- Not knowing what to do with my studies.
People who changed me for the better
- Willemijn Verkaik & Savannah Stevenson, by their awesomeness.
- Stephanie, by turning me from an unofficial Verkaiking into an official one :).
- Xanne-Li, by giving me the sweetest compliments and eventually becoming one of my closest friends <3.
- Elizabeth, by being the most awesome long-lost twin sister ever. Just for the record, we're not actually twins. She lives in Australia, I live in the Netherlands. We found each other on Fanfiction and realised how many things we have in common, and now we're the Dutchtralian twins. Girl, I'm so glad I found you. Love you :).
- My Mum, because that's what she does for me every year and all the time <3.
- My Dad, too. 'Cause he's awesome :).
2014
- Seeing Flashdance for a second time in January :).
- Going to Jochem Myjer's show, my favourite cabaret performer of all time, in February.
- Going to a concert of Marco Borsato, a famous Dutch singer I love, in May.
- Writing more stories, fanfiction and otherwise.
- Continuing to fangirl over everything Wicked-related with my awesome Fanfiction friends :).
- The third Hunger Games movie.
- The third Hobbit movie.
- The release of our film! It's going to be a short film called 'To do great, right a little wrong' and it will star all kinds of characters from Shakespearian stories. Two of my friends and me will be the three witches from Macbeth :).
Things I fervently hope will happen
- Publishing my first book.
- Getting my bachelor's degree in Psychology.
- Making the right decision as to what to do with my studies next year.
- Meeting the other Verkaikings in real life.
- Seeing Wicked in London again (if that happens it will probably be in combination with the previous point :P).
- Seeing Sister Act again.
- Seeing Love Story.
